Who builds it

One shop, one crew, from the first sketch to the last hinge.

Most cabinetry sold in this province is ordered from a catalogue, shipped flat and assembled by whoever is free that week. Ours is not. Every door, drawer and carcass leaves our floor in Port Coquitlam, and the people who cut it are the people who carry it into your home.

That is the whole reason PreCon exists. When one crew owns the drawing, the build and the install, there is nobody to blame and nothing to hand off. Gaps stay tight. Grain runs where it should. Doors line up across a ten-foot run because someone stood there and made them.

What we build

Cabinetry for every room that has to work hard.

Kitchens are most of what we do, but the same shop, the same hardwood and the same crew build everything else in the house that opens and closes.

Custom kitchens

The full kitchen, drawn around how you actually cook. Designed, built and installed by one team, so nothing gets lost between trades.

  • Full design and 3D renders
  • Solid hardwood doors and frames
  • Soft-close Blum hardware

Islands and millwork

The centrepiece. Waterfall stone, seated overhangs, integrated power, hidden bins and drawers that open with a knee.

  • Seated and prep islands
  • Stone and butcher block tops
  • Panelled appliance fronts

Pantries and wardrobes

Walk-in pantries and bedroom wardrobes built to the millimetre, so every jar, coat and shoe has a place it returns to.

  • Walk-in and reach-in builds
  • Adjustable solid shelving
  • Integrated lighting

Vanities and ensuites

Moisture-stable construction that survives a family bathroom, finished to the same standard as the kitchen it lives beside.

  • Floating and furniture vanities
  • Marine-grade substrates
  • Undermount and vessel ready

Built-ins and libraries

Media walls, home offices, mudroom benches and floor-to-ceiling shelving that reads as architecture, not furniture.

  • Scribed to walls and ceilings
  • Concealed cable management
  • Matching room millwork

Refacing and renewal

When the layout already works, we keep the boxes and rebuild everything you touch. A new kitchen in under two weeks on site.

  • New doors, drawers and fronts
  • Hardware and interior upgrades
  • Colour and finish matching

How it works

Twelve weeks, five steps, and no surprises.

You will always know what is happening, what it costs and when it lands. That is the part most people tell us they were missing from their last renovation.

Materials

Wood first. Always.

We buy rough lumber and mill it ourselves, which means we choose the boards, we match the grain, and nothing goes into your kitchen that we would not put in our own.

Doors and frames are solid hardwood. Carcasses are furniture-grade plywood, never particle board, edge-banded on every visible face. Finishes are sprayed in a dedicated booth and hand-sanded between coats, which is the difference you feel with your fingertips two years later.

Straight, open grain

White oak

Our most requested. Takes a matt finish beautifully and stays pale for decades.

Polished stone slab with soft grey veining

Stone and surfaces

Quartz, porcelain and natural stone, templated and mitred in house so the veining runs around the corner.

Close-up of solid cabinet hardware

Hardware that outlives us

Blum runners and hinges on every build, with a lifetime manufacturer warranty and a 50 kilo drawer rating.

Custom timber storage detail

Interiors, not afterthoughts

Solid timber dividers, knife blocks, spice pull-outs and bin systems drawn around what you actually own.

We had three quotes and PreCon was the only one that measured the room before pricing it. Nine months later every drawer still closes like the day it went in.

Marielle Chen

West VancouverKitchen and pantry

They worked around a heritage house that had nothing square in it. The install crew protected the floors better than we would have and the shop finished a week early.

I sent a WhatsApp on a Sunday expecting nothing and had photos and a rough number by Monday lunch. That set the tone for the whole build.

The quote we signed was the invoice we paid. In a renovation that is close to a miracle, and it is the reason we brought them back for the ensuite.

Straight answers

The questions we get every week.

Still deciding?

Send a photo of your kitchen on WhatsApp. We will tell you what is realistic and roughly what it costs, with no visit and no pressure.

Most of the kitchens we build land between 30,000 and 60,000 dollars for cabinetry, hardware and installation, depending on the size of the room, the species and whether the fronts are painted or timber. Smaller galleys and refacing projects start lower. You get a budget range within 48 hours of the first visit, and a fixed written price before anything is cut.

Ten to twelve weeks from the first measure to handover is typical. Roughly four weeks of that is design and drawings, five weeks is the build in our shop, and three to five days is the install itself. Refacing projects are usually finished inside a fortnight.

We design, build and install all of the cabinetry, and we supply and template the countertops. For plumbing, electrical, tiling and flooring we coordinate directly with trades we have worked beside for years, or with yours if you already have people you trust.

In our own shop in Port Coquitlam. Nothing is imported flat-packed and nothing is subcontracted overseas. The people who cut and sand your doors are the people who carry them into your house.

We install across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, from West Vancouver through to Chilliwack. If you are further out, call and ask. We will tell you honestly whether it makes sense.

Every install carries a ten-year workmanship warranty, and the Blum hardware we use is covered by the manufacturer for the life of the product. A door that drops or a drawer that drifts gets adjusted by us, at no charge, for as long as the warranty runs.
